Beta Reader Bookings LLC Terms and Conditions and Refund Policy

The author (customer) retains all rights to their manuscript and beta reading report. Beta Reader Bookings LLC and beta readers who contract with the company acknowledge that they do not own the work.

Beta reading orders can rarely be cancelled by the customer once a beta reader begins reading.

Full refunds are permitted when (1) customers do not receive their feedback within two weeks of their chosen timeline. Partial refunds may be granted for certain expedited delivery fees if the feedback is no more than three days late. Customers should contact [email protected] with questions regarding refunds or to request a refund. Refund requests must be made within three days of receiving feedback. Refunds and partial refunds will not be granted due to customers not agreeing with the feedback. This refund policy does not apply to VIP memberships.

Beta Reader Bookings LLC may cancel and refund your order when you did not disclose trigger warnings if we determine that, as a result, we cannot fulfill your order within the timeframe you specified during checkout. VIP members will not receive a refund. However, they may disclose trigger warnings and resubmit their manuscript.

Customers have the option of uploading up to five specific questions (ten for VIP members). This is an optional free add-on service. Failure to upload your questions during checkout does not warrant a refund. Customers may email us with their questions within 48 hours of the order date for standard delivery (within 24 hours for expedited delivery options) if they failed to do so during checkout.

Beta Reader Bookings LLC may bill you for additional charges when (1) your word count exceeds the word count you indicated during checkout (We may bill you for up to $.0015 per word over the indicated limit), or (2) you uploaded a file with more than five questions (We may bill you for up to $5 per additional question), or (3) one or more of your questions asks for more than one answer (We may bill you for up to $5 per additional answer requested). This does not apply to VIP members.

Purchases of VIP memberships are only refundable if the author requests to cancel within two weeks of purchase and if the author has not yet submitted a manuscript for beta reading. Refunds will not be granted unless both conditions are met. If an author meets the criteria for a refund request, they will be granted a full refund, minus applicable payment processing fees.

Submitting a manuscript at the time of purchasing a VIP membership counts as submitting a manuscript for beta reading. The author’s membership begins on the date they purchase the membership.

VIP members may only submit one manuscript at a time as part of their membership. Once they receive feedback or their delivery date has passed, they may submit another. VIP members may ask up to five follow-up questions. Follow-up questions must be asked within one week of receiving feedback. If follow-up questions are not asked within one week of receiving feedback, the author forfeits the option for that manuscript. All initial questions must be asked at the time of submission. If a VIP member does not ask all ten initial questions at the time of submission, they forfeit that option for that project.

If a VIP member does not receive feedback within two days of their delivery date, they will receive an automatic one-month membership extension.

In some situations, VIP members might have manuscripts assigned to different readers. If Beta Reader Bookings LLC needs to assign a different reader, the author will be notified at the time of feedback delivery.

VIP members must submit manuscripts using the email address they indicated when they purchased the service.
