Becoming a VIP member comes with extra perks, such as automatic upgrades to expedited delivery and the option to ask follow-up questions. What does a VIP membership through Beta Reader Bookings LLC include?
As a VIP member, you won’t need to pay for each manuscript you submit. As soon as you receive feedback for one manuscript (or partial manuscript), you can submit another. At this time, Beta Reader Bookings LLC is offering a three-month VIP membership. That means that VIP members can enjoy the following perks for three months.
Membership perks
- An additional reader: VIP members will receive a second beta reading service for every manuscript they submit. There’s no need to pay an additional fee for the second beta reading service (for a savings of $105 per 90,000-word submission).
- Additional questions: Our standard beta reading services allow authors to submit up to five questions at no additional fee. But VIP members can ask up to ten initial questions (for a savings of $25 per submission).
- Follow-up questions: Beta Reader Bookings LLC’s standard beta reading services don’t allow for follow-up questions. But VIP members can ask up to five follow-up questions per submission. (Follow-up questions must be submitted within seven calendar days of receiving feedback.)
- No fees for word overage: Are your manuscripts on the lengthier side? No problem! VIP members aren’t subject to word-overage fees. (With standard services, word overage is calculated at $0.0015 per word. That’s a $75 savings for every 50,000 words over the limit.)
- Pay one fee for the entire three months: With a VIP membership, you only pay the membership fee. You won’t pay for each manuscript (or partial manuscript) you submit. As soon as you receive feedback for one submission, you can submit another project. (Savings can vary, depending on your word counts and how many projects you submit for feedback.)
- Expedited feedback: VIP members will receive expedited feedback at no additional cost.

To put it in perspective, assuming each manuscript is 90,000 words, you could submit up to six manuscripts during your three-month membership. Even without considering second readers, additional questions, word overages, and expedited delivery fees, you’d be saving money. But that doesn’t mean a VIP membership is the best for everyone. How much you save will depend on your word counts, how many projects you plan to submit, whether you prefer two beta readers, and other factors.
Beta Reader Bookings VIP Membership FAQs
Will I be charged a recurring fee?
No, if you purchase a three-month membership, that membership will expire at the end of the term. Beta Reader Bookings LLC will not automatically charge you to renew your membership. If you’d like to renew your membership, you must do so manually.
Can I cancel my membership?
Whether VIP members use all of their membership benefits is up to them. If you’d like to discontinue sending projects for beta reading, you may. However, refunds are only provided if both of the following apply:
- You request to cancel your membership within two weeks of purchase
- You have not yet submitted a project during your membership period
Membership begins as soon as you purchase the service. Uploading a manuscript at the time of purchasing the membership counts as submitting a project during the membership period.
If you meet the above criteria, you may cancel your membership by sending an email to [email protected]. Members who meet the criteria and cancel will be refunded the full amount of the membership, minus payment processing fees.
Can I submit more than one manuscript at a time?
The Beta Reader Bookings LLC VIP membership allows for one beta reading service at a time. That means you must wait until you receive feedback or until your delivery date has passed to submit another as part of your membership. If you would like to submit a manuscript for beta reading while one is already in process, you would need to place an order for a standard beta reading service.
Will I always receive services from the same readers?
Beta Reader Bookings LLC will prioritize sending projects to the same readers if the following apply:
- The genre is the same
- The trigger warnings align with the readers’ preferences
- The word count aligns with the readers’ preferences
However, there may be times when Beta Reader Bookings LLC needs to assign a different reader. This can happen for various reasons, including family emergencies, readers’ schedules, readers’ preferences, and other factors.
How do I purchase a VIP membership for beta reading services?
Authors have two options for purchasing a VIP membership. They can purchase the VIP membership online, or they can send an email to [email protected]. If ordering via email, you will receive a PayPal invoice.
How do I submit manuscripts as a VIP member?
If you order online, you’ll have the option to upload your first manuscript via the website. For other submissions, simply send an email to [email protected]. To ensure timely processing, please keep the following in mind when submitting via email.
- Attach your manuscript as a Word document or PDF
- List your initial questions (up to ten) in the body of the email
- Ensure you send the email from the same email address you used when purchasing the membership
Can I purchase a longer membership?
At this time, Beta Reader Bookings LLC only offers a three-month membership. You may purchase another three-month membership once your membership period ends.
How much does the membership cost?
The Beta Reader Bookings LLC VIP membership is $550.
Is a Beta Reading Membership Right For Me?
This answer won’t be the same for every author. Authors who have several manuscripts ready for beta reading and those who want feedback as they write will likely benefit the most from being a VIP member. Other considerations include whether you’d like to resubmit manuscripts after making changes, whether it’s important you have more than one reader for each manuscript, how quickly you’d like to receive the feedback, and whether you’d like to ask follow-up questions.
