Beta Readers
Description: Beta readers read unpublished manuscripts and provide feedback to authors. For each manuscript they read, beta readers are expected to provide in-depth answers to five questions and craft a feedback report (1-2 pages). Beta readers must adhere to strict confidentiality agreements. AI use is not permitted. This is an independent contractor position.
Minimum qualifications:
- Must be based (and be authorized to work) in the US, Canada, or the UK
- Must have a social media account that has been active for at least five years
- Must be 18+
- Must be an avid reader and have a solid understanding of at least one genre
- Must have great attention to deatil
- Must be able to provide constructive criticism
- Must follow ethical business practices
- Must have a PayPal account that matches your legal name (to receive payments)
- Must be willing to take an assessment
How to apply: Send an email to [email protected]. Use “Beta Reader Position” as your subject line. In your email, include the following information:
- Your country
- A link to the social media account (a personal account is fine) that you want to use for the social media screening
- A link to your Goodreads profile (if you have one)
- Which of these genres you regularly read and enjoy
- Romance
- Literary Fiction
